I was just playing Rose of May on my keyboard, since technically that's still listening to music... It's an awesome song from FF9... One of my favorites.
I say Dragonforce is overrated. They aren't very good at writing fresh music. They just keep repeating the same stuff over and over again every song. They have some cool fresh stuff every now and then, but their music is just too linear for me to consider amazing or really even that great.

The quickest way to a man's heart is with Chuck Norris' fist. In fine print on the last page of the Guinness Book of World Records it notes that all world records are held by Chuck Norris, and those listed in the book are simply the closest anyone else has ever gotten.

They DON'T play that good that fast all the time. They get drunk before their concerts and play horrible live. Their music is repetive and even the lyrics between different songs repeat sometimes! Things such as re-recording and effects allow them to make those "amazing" sounding repetitive studio recordings without it being all messed up... Of course I'm no guitarist, or drummer, or singer in comparison to them, but it usually is smart to make music that you can actually play at least a little bit consistently... And skill in playing music doesn't mean anything on making music anyways. So just because they can "play fast" doesn't mean they can write good music. There is much better music out there than Dragonforce. They just happened to get lucky and get a song on Guitar Hero III. And of course people automatically link that and it's difficulty/speed with them being a great band... sad... I can listen to them, and I don't hate them, but neither the band's purpose nor the music nor anything else stand out in my head as anything but as John said, mediocre.

=) lol... I guess the rant was rather unnecessary... but regardless... They aren't a great band, and they aren't a great example for those making a band or really for people in general... Drinking alcohol, playing fast music, and yelling out random obscenities on-stage will only get you so far in life (or afterlife).

Hmm... I'm not listening to anything right now! But if I was it would probably be... Melodies of Life - Nobuo Uematsu/FF9... Haven't listened to it in a while now. =( But it's an amazing song!

(read this all max) i dont have an opinion on dragonforce. its purely fact that they are terrible, ill sum it up to you. Herman Lee is a very good guitarist if in fact he wasnt part of dragon force, he has the speed metal technique but in fact uses pedals to make his sound... you really want to know how he plays so fast? Delay pedal, he sets it to a 3 second delay so each time they strum it makes an echo like hes playing it 4 times for each individual strum. and yes what joey says they get drunk as heck before concerts and the only things that sound even decent are the keyboards and vocals. and im not saying that they are terrible im just saying that they are not epic metal. call them what they are, circus performers. i enjoy listening to them but i dont really consider them part of society... lol theres a little humor.

if you want to hear some awesome guitarists that can reach 400+ bpm without pedals listen to people like John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo Batio, Gus G, Rafael Bittencourt, Andre Olbrich, Kiko Loureiro, just to name a few, these are the epic guitarists that hardly anyone knows about.

The quickest way to a man's heart is with Chuck Norris' fist. In fine print on the last page of the Guinness Book of World Records it notes that all world records are held by Chuck Norris, and those listed in the book are simply the closest anyone else has ever gotten.

ok...(1. who DOESN'T get drunk before they get on stage. (2. crazy good guitarists are only as good as their bands music. (3. they are quite repetitive (4. you already told me all this 7th period today so i didn't have to read it haha
